We choose a book in the Bible to read and explore. Open to all. A sense of humor is appreciated.
On-Going Offerings
Bible Study:
Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11 a.m., in Dee's office, during the school year. We gather for tea and gentle conversation using the Dee's sermon topic schedule as our guide..
Wednesday evenings, 6 p.m. in Dee's office. By consensus of the group, we choose a particular book from the Bible to study for several weeks.
Summer Bible Study Wednesday Evenings: We will convene at Battle Point Park on the Wednesdays there is a concert-in-the-park. On those days, we’ll meet at 6 p.m. in the covered picnic area by the tennis courts to study scripture and share a light potluck snack, At 7, those who wish, will head over to the grandstand for the musical offering. See the calendar for the schedule.
No prior Bible-ready experience is required or necessary for attending either group; newcomers are always welcome.
Choir:
Most Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m., in the sanctuary, during the school year. We’re a multi-age group with a variety of singing experience. We’re open to any and all who’d like to explore and expand their vocal interests and talents. Some of us also participate in smaller group ensembles that perform periodically before the congregation.
If you're interested in singing with us, contact Alice Tawresey or Carol Estes.
Hungry Readers:
The third Monday of each month, during the school year, at noon (bring a sack lunch) in the fellowship hall to discuss our consensually chosen book-of-the-month. We read fiction and non-fiction works that focus on faith. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you haven’t read the book.
Men’s Breakfast:
Thursday (except major holidays) from 7-8:20 a.m. in our fellowship hall. We partake of a simple meal of oatmeal and fruit, and enjoy conversation and, often, a program by one of our attendees or a guest we’ve invited. The group is secular in nature, comprised of many philosophies, faiths, and beliefs, and there is amazing expertise available, regardless of the subject.
For more information on any of the above events or groups, please call the church office. 206-842-4657
