Welcome to Eagle Harbor Congregational Church. We
are an inclusive, progressive, and welcoming Christian community; we're
thinking people who take the Bible seriously but not literally.
We are an open and affirming church.
Please join us for worship
Sunday mornings at 9:30. We have childcare and Sunday School.

Strengthen the Church, UCC special mission offering, Sunday, May 18, during worship. This offering builds the UCC's future; it funds new congregations and renews existing ones. It supports programs for youth and young adults and nurtures current and future leaders. And this year, for the first time, it will aid the God Is Still Speaking ministry and its message of inclusivity. Please be generous in your giving to this special offering.
-
Discussion of Process Theology: A Basic Introduction by C. Robert Mesle, Sunday, May 18, after worship in the Singer room. See Pastor Dee if you need a copy of the book.
-
Interfaith Music Festival, Sunday, May 18, 3:30pm at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church (11042 Sunrise Dr. NE). Please join us for this celebration of faith, music, and fellowship as we enjoy sacred and devotional works presented by individuals and choral groups (adult and youth) from faith congregations on Bainbridge Island. At the end of the concert, all of the participants will gather as one large, unified choir, under the direction of this year’s guest director, Ann Strickland, of Grace Episcopal Church, to sing “Love In My Soul” (based on a prayer adapted by Kathy McCarthy, music by island composer Caroline Clucas), and “MLK” (words and music by U2, arranged by Bob Chilcott).
-
Hungry Readers book group, Monday, April 21, 7pm in the Singer room. We're discussing the second half of Harvey Cox' When Jesus Came to Harvard: Making Moral Choices Today. (For more information, click here: Stretching the Mind and Spirit.)
-

"Beware the terrible simplifiers"
UCC pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright, now retired from Trinity UCC in Chicago, has been the focus of much media attention of late. Perhaps the most objective thing we can say about this maelstrom of coverage and commentary is that it has brought to the fore a myriad of perspectives regarding race relations in this country. While it is inappropriate, here, to assign "helpfult" or "not" to individual viewpoints, it is appropriate to call to light commentary by our own UCC member, Bill Moyers. Please click below to view that commentary:
