Hungry Readers, Monday, October 21, at noon in our fellowship hall: Our church book club, Hungry Readers, will gather discuss the novel Go, Went, Gone by Jenny Erpenbeck. A novel about a refugee crisis in another country, Go, Went, Gone addresses one of the most pivotal issues of our time, facing it head-on in a voice that is both nostalgic and frightening. Bring a brown bag lunch and come join us for discussion.
How Can We Help Our Endangered Orcas? Wednesday, October 23, 7pm in the fellowship hall. This is an Orca Alliance-sponsored panel and audience discussion regarding the issues facing our resident orcas and what can be done to stop the decline in the pods’ populations. More details to come. Open to all!
Please join Anna Edmonds and her family for a celebration of her 95th birthday. The gathering will be held in the fellowship hall from 1-2pm on Sunday, October 27. Coffee and cake will be served.
Hot Dog-n-Chili Fundraiser for UNICEF: Wednesday, October 31 In our fellowship hall from 4 to 7pm during the downtown Winslow Trick-or-Treat festivities. We can use help on everything from set-up to clean-up to inviting and welcoming the crowds of kiddies (and their families). Talk to Gerri Harrington or Jennifer in the church office.
