EHCC will host a community forum 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 12 on the movement to amend the U.S. Constitution to end corporate personhood. The national “Move to Amend” coalition is a response to the Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court ruling which fabricated constitutional rights for corporations. Since the ruling, multinational corporations have misused the First Amendment to dominate the political process with corporate money and power. A number of our Kitsap neighbors are actively working in support of amending the constitution, and seek a forum for education and encouragement of fellow citizens. Yes Magazine publisher Fran Korten will make a presentation on the movement and its significance in our time, and there will be time allowed for discussion and networking. Let’s use this occasion as an opportunity to show hospitality and widen our connections with our Kitsap County neighbors! Refreshments will be needed; please contact Pastor Dee if you can help.
